Red Bird of Paradise seed tips

Hey!I am pretty new to this forum,and to growing tropicals,so please help me out if you can.When planting bird of paradise seeds,is there anything special that you have to do,like soak them,so they'll germinate?Is there anything you can do to make them germinate faster or easier?Please let me know,

I don't know but, I'll watch this thread and see if you get any good info. i have had seeds potted up for 3 weeks now and nothing, and the seeds still seem good.

I'm not positive, but I think I remember them being large and kind of hard.

I would nick the surface and soak in plain old water for two or more day, or until the seeds swell slightly.

Then I'd sow the seed in good sterilized mix (in a clean pot in a freezer bag) as deep as they are big. Bottom heat is always good, try putting on top of your fridge or a heating vent, etc. Light will probably help germination.
