Have had my star for many years and have battled with mealy bugs quite often. Was so pleased that this year when I brought it inside, I have had no sign of mealy bugs;
But, in the past 2 weeks it has really started dropping leaves and those that are on the plant are very brittle and dropping like crazy. There aren't any signs of bugs nor of a disease on the leaves themselves. Any idea what would make the leaves brittle and dropping all of a sudden?
Thanks.

Star Jasmine - Leaves Drying Up
the air maybe to dry,try misting.....just a thought.
Plants are starting to 'wake up' now, and getting ready to put out new leaves. You might be experiencing this with your plants. You could either cut it back so it looks better, or just leave it alone - the new leaves will push the old ones off.
Thanks lil and Kay. I will try the misting as I had thought about it but didn't. I have had this star for so many years and nursed it through so much, but just don't recall it ever dropping so many leaves this time of year.
Hope I can get it outside soon, but we are expecting up to 8" of snow today, so this won't be the day!
