Call up "The Rainbow Bridge Poem"--this has helped immensely when we lost our fabulous Siberian Huskey, Jake to nasal cancer a year ago.
I passed it on to his Vet and her clinic now hands out printed copies of it to each person. One other little tidbit of info which I did not think would help me, but it certainly did...
After Jake went to sleep and I had my private time with him, the Vet came back into the room and after hugging me, etc. she asked me if I wanted a little bit of the snow white fur from his leg area (very fluffy and white). I immediately said no, but thank you. I then changed my mind, took some and put it in a little zip lock sandwich bag. It was then put away with several sympathy cards and since last year I have pulled it out and just gently stroked his fur and, yes, although I cry still, it is so comforting to have that snipit of fur from our guy, Jake. jeani4
