Have: Rooted Snail Vine (phaseolus) wanted: common Lilac

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm looking to trade a rooted Snail vine about 2ft in length and blooming age. I am looking for a common lilac plant.
I know I'll only have it for the summer but I left Chicago in the early 1970's and this is the thing I miss the most.
Would like a plant size that will bloom this summer naturally. I may even experiment with cutting it back and putting it in the freezer next winter.

I may be able to get you one from my big lilac bush. I can't be certain till morning so I can check. Will let you know then. I would love to trade for the snail vine. Shirley

Lilac is one of my ultimate favorite plants/shrubs. I am always sad when I hear Southern gardeners complaining about not being able to grow and enjoy it.
I've been doing a bit of research on various varieties that have been bred to do better in warmer climates (zone 2 to 9)

Here are three I found:

Lavender Lady - Single Purple

Excel - Single Lilac Purple

Aucubaefolia - Double Blue/Lilac

Good luck! :-)

Thanks Marc,
I have to say the only thing I miss about Chicago is the lilacs and a few other "cold weather" flowers like lily of the valley and peonies and dahlias. I am tempted to try some and overwinter them in the freezer
