AKA Bolivian / Chilean nasturtium I think...
Saw some on eBay but the bidding got too high for just FIVE seeds! Will trade or SASBE. If you have some, email me and we'll haggle! ;-)
want: Tropaeolum Tricolorum VINE
I've already given away half my seeds of Tropaeolum tricolorum so can't share them, but have 5 Tropaeolum brachyceras (yellow) I'd be willing to share. They're from Ursula and I'll have enough left to try.
Maybe Ursula has more? ;-)
Do you want to trade or shall I send you a SASBE? I have lists I can email you here on DG.
She mentioned on the 'yellow' PF thread that she didn't have more of them. You'd have to ask her about the tricolour. Not really looking for anything but email me your list. Ya never know....... :)
Kooger -
Just sent you my list via DG email. Happy hunting!
Steve

Could you mail a seedling? (I am new at this) ---- I'm very impressed with this plant... Maybe we could wait a few days and see if anyone has some seeds... if not, we can trade or SASBE or ??? What does one use in such situtations? Wanna see my trading list??? ;-)
A different tropaeolum, might help? http://tomclothier.hort.net/page04.html
Notes from Ursula in PF:
Sowing recommendations: propagate from seeds in autumn (stratify) in a mix of: 1 portion compost, ½ portion regular garden soil and 1/3 sand. They will germinate late winter and should not be transplanted before one year, after they have lost their foliage and have formed a tuber.
(stratify)
Someone please explain in simple terms... new at this...
Notes from Ursula in PF:

Need heat, light?
From Garden Terms (see tab above) written by Baa:
Stratify: Pre-chilling the seed to help break seed dormancy.
There are numerous pre-chill methods, the easiest is, sow outside in the Autumn for the winter to provide the cold.
Another method is to place the seed in a bag or pot of moist compost or sand and pop the whole lot on the fridge for a time. You can cover the pots to prevent pest attack and rainfall damage and leave in a sheltered spot outside for a few weeks.
The temperature and length of time the seeds need for pre-chilling will depend on the species being grown.
From Garden Terms (see tab above) written by Baa:
So what wil t.t. like?
In your zone, I think your only choice is the frig and freezer. I would be tempted to follow the directions for Trop. spec. listed in The Tom Clothier site (link above). Or maybe do a few seeds that way and a few just in the frig. You could also go to the PF entry and try emailing people who have posted pics, left comments or zipcode details and see if any of them have grown them from seed. Good luck! :)
Laura,
Steve and I have been corresponding via e-mail. He has all necessary information.
Hugs,
Ursula
GREAT!!! So glad you saw this, Ursula.
Only that I saw it when I had no seeds left ......
