Thyme Spacing

Joseph, OR(Zone 5a)

Hi,
Can someone tell me how to space Thyme? I have just the regular old Thyme and I am wondering how many seedling I can plant in one 10 pot. Thyme will be the only plant in this pot.

Thanks!

I've wondered this too. I just planted the whole pack and the plant looks like the ones you buy...I'm hoping that it's okay to do that cause I did. ;)

My gosh, I should really read over the post before I actually post it huh! I meant 10" pot! I'm thinking I will squeeze quite a few into my pot as well Tammy. I guess we'll see!

Hello,
I have had English thyme growing in my herb garden for 3 years. I started with 6 plants and it's spread happily to fill in a row about 8 feet long. I cut it back to keep it out of my path ways, but I haven't stopped it from spreading laterally. I would imagine if you could put two or three plants in the ten inch pot, but I'm not sure I'd go for much more than that. I think I had 6 - 8 inch wide plants in the first year (from seedlings I started myself). I'm in zone 7 - they seem to like the climate quite well here.

Thanks Portia,
I was thinking I could fit in about three plants. I'll just keep em cut back. Thanks again!
