Has anyone dealt with this company??

New Madison, OH(Zone 5a)

I received a catalog in the mail from Farmtek. Looks like some nice greenhouses in there...at reasonable prices. Has anyone purchased from them? I would be interested to hear your input. Thanks, Marcia

We bought a greenhouse from them last fall - complete with Modine furnace, fans, thermostats, etc. We shopped around before we bought it and are pretty sure we got a good deal. Ours is 30 X 48 feet and I love it. We were really satisfied with the service and have purchased other supplies since then. If you have any specific questions feel free to email.

Thought you might want to see a picture. Looks a lot different now...22 benches, potting bench, and an 8 X 12 foot raised bed on one end. Propane will be delivered Wednesday and then we will start moving plants in.

Hi!! How are you? I haven't written since asking for info about your area. Did you see that school sold for 160k??? I still kind of go through the 'what ifs'. LOL

Are you looking for a huge greenhouse or a backyard model? I also looked at Farmtek. They sell their clearspan models on their site and also Ebay. I ended up with Rion. It's almost together and I can tell you about parts and building but sorry to say I can't say anything about how it works yet.

Good luck to you!
Thank you very much for the pics and info last month.
Hugs,
Michele

shelleydar, nice GH , can you put a nice cott over there in the far corner and a book shelf
I be there in a week

Ive been looking at the farmtek website for a while now , they do have some
good looking stuff there. i havent ordered anything from them yet.

ps, will need a coffee pot too

Sparky, might be able to fit a cot in the raised bed..coffee & books - NO PROBLEM. However, I do have several thousand seedlings that will need to be repotted in the next two weeks...feel'n up to it?

That's a mighty funny looking propane heater you have there!
Greenhouse looks geart! What are you using for benches ?
We have a way of building strong benches cheap & they last forever. I will get a picture tomarrow & post it.
I ordered a fan shutter from Farmtek last summer. Very good product at a reasonable price.

Hi folks....thanks for the input! I am thinking about a size of 12x14. Would like to have a larger one..but where I want to put it...to be near water and electric...that's about all the room I have. I have been looking for several years now...having a hard time making up my mind..lol.
Hi Michele!! Yes I did see where that school sold! But you will find yours..lol! I have seen a Rion greenhouse. A friend in town has one...not too bad...only thing I didn't like was low height.
If I could talk DH into letting me have part of the field...lol..I could put a really big one up...but...I don't think that will happen. :(
Oh well..such is life!!
Thanks for the answers! Marcia

ShellyDar...I meant to say last night...I LOVE your greenhouse!! I showed it to DH...and he said..why would anyone need one that large? LOL! He JUST doesn't get it!!!
I am seriously considering one from Farmtek!

hay , that first pic didnt have any white stuff in it ..
im trired of seeing snow ... i wish i could move in
to a GH to live .. maybe one day ..
I did think at one time , man if i had the $$$ to get one
of them big greenhouses i could put my trailer in it
and the heat that escapes from this poorly insulated
trailer would heat the GH. i could heat 2 things for the
price of one.

Marcy_1,

I got my heater, fan, backdraft louver and sheeting from FarmTek/Tek Supply. We use them often and have yet to have any trouble.

Here's the benches I am talking about.
You get the material at a commerical buiolding supply company. You can cut it with a tin snips, & you put it together with small screws & a screwgun. Very easy to do.

Bernie, her are the benches my DH built. He tends to over design and I think they are sturdy enough to hold a truck, but they were expensive. All treated lumber.
