I am looking for seeds or ideas for a memory garden for my 12 year old nephew. I have forget me nots (thanks Kim)

All ideas are welcome too.

Here is my trade list if anyone has anything. Thanks, Ronnie http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/ronnie17

I'm afraid this is more in the lines of a posting with ideas, as I don't have extra seeds of any of these, but have you considered....

'Ice Ballet' Asclepias incarnata (butterfly weed)
'Carpet of Snow' sweet alyssum
blue bellflowers (Campanula varieties)
'Happy Lights' mix of hollyhocks

I do have extra 'Heavenly Blue' morning glory, but it sounds like you already have that one covered. If the seeds I've traded for do well, I should have the above varieties to offer you in a season or two.....

There's another plant you might consider, although I hesitate to suggest it lest you think I'm being rude, but I'm thinking a 12 year old boy named Peter might really be able to appreciate a chile pepper variety called 'Peter Pepper'. It's a remarkably anatomically correct looking pepper..... I was offered some seed in a trade but declined because there are a couple of boys living next door, and I didn't think I could take their giggling. If you email me, I'll tip you off as to who has seeds for it.

Also, how about some rosemary ("rosemary for remembrance" -- where is that quote from?)

Just had another thought....

"Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers!"

I do have saved seeds from 'Sweet Pickles' pepper -- a lovely compact pepper plant bearing upright clusters of green, purple, yellow, orange & red peppers. The look is not unlike one of those decorative chiles, but the ripe red peppers are sweet & tasty. It's not a hybrid and should come true from seed, especially as the seeds I saved were from fairly isolated plants on my deck.

sending some seeds out to you tomorrow...

I have Sun Smile JMG, Ronnie.

Box Springs, GA

Here are some suggestions:

lily of the nile-Peter Pan
Daylilies-Black Peter,Eunice Peters
Hydrangea-Peter Chappell
Dutch Crocus-Peter Pan
Lavender-Peter Pan
Hostas-Peter Pan,Peter Ruh,Peter the Rock

Hope you find some:)

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Chelsea,
I like Peter the rock hosta, great idea!!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I searched PF for "Peter" and "heaven" and "angel" and found lots of possiblities, many of which are daylily or iris or hosta cultivars. You may also want to post a request over to the plant trading forum, as people may have divisions they could send you for postage.

Did you want the 'Sweet Pickles' pepper seeds? It's more of a reach, theme-wise, but about the only other thing I have right now would be blue bachelor buttons, and it sounds like you have those.... Oh, I have to check, but I think I may have enough Mountain Bluet seeds to share a few too (Centaurea sp, don't remember species name offhand). LMK!

(Zone 7a)

Ronnie, I have these http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/602/ One person says they're invasive..But what's one persons opinion?? I thought it would provide instant white flowers. As the White forget-me-nots may now flower the first year. And it would help bring out the other flowers..LMK and I will stick them in the mail. I also have White Primrose Oenothera Pallida...
