I'm looking for something that will just spit the water up out of my pond in an arch..... When I google 'water spitter' I get all the different figurines that spit water..... Is there a special name for the equipment that spits water ? I'm a newbie can you tell with all the technical terms like spitting water (LOL).......
Spitting water - Don't want a figure just the spitting water
I can't be of assistance, but I so enjoyed your posting... you sound like me and my tech talk. lol lol

You can make a simple spitter with a short hose from you pump to a copper tube sticking just past the top of you water, everything else below the water would be out of sight, fix your water flow to the spit you want. It worked for me.
Vizz8, your post further supports the fact that I'm not calling it the right thing. I went to a garden show and they had a 'thing' (don't laugh -judy) that would spit the water and then stop for a few minutes and then spit the water again ...... it wasn't a constant spit ...... I'm sitting here laughing at my own post but I don't know how else to explain it and I'm sure it has official verbage .....
VS71099, I think "spitter" is a great word for what you want. It spits the water, right? What you want is a spit, pause, spit againer!!! LOL jeani4
Yes, that's what I want. I'm afraid to go ask at the store. My luck I'd get the guy (whose much younger than I) who would end up just looking at me with this really weird look on his face thinking I'm some crazy woman...... "What are you looking for ma'm.. " and I reply "something that spits, pauses and then spits again .... " Yep - he'd think I was crazy...... Come to think about it - I'm beginning to think I'm crazy ...... LOL
Oh OK, my spitter spits all the time, you want one that pauses and spits again... LOL, How much spit can a spitter, spit???
Yes spit and stop - spit and spot - like a dancing fountain....... LOL
What about an intermittent water fountain ? Ha,, I made that up. You'll probably be okay if you go to a pond store but for heavens sake dont go to a regular retail store that just happens to sell a few pond supplies :)

It will take a electric water valve and a timer to turn it off and on. So that is what you have to do the search for.
Maybe a timer could make it do that ?
