eremurus ...fact or fiction?

Willoughby, OH(Zone 5a)

I just purchased 2 eremurus"shelford hybrids" mix and the lady at the garden center insisted that one plant can produce several different colors. The picture shows a full color range of yellow, peach, cream, pink and copper and she assured me that ONE plant can produce these various colors. Is this possibly true? I am a terrible skeptic as all my experience with any "mix" means each seed, plant, bulb produces one color of the mix.
Can't find ANY info on this. Anybody ever grow this type?
Thanks,
Gail

Thanks so much for the info! I guess I should have purchased these in the fall and planted them then. Unfortunately they were sold as summer bulbs and I assumed they would be planted around April. Won't be seeing any blooms this year,I'll bet,but they are stunning!
Thanks again!

hi gail !!... I've tried eremerus and they have done so so in zone 5a (new england)...definitely worth a try though- each plant will be one shade, you won't get lots of colors from one plant, in my experience! My problem is that they seem to dwindle after a couple of years. those roots take up a lot of room- and i'm never sure I've planted them in the right place. I'll have to check out t's links for more info- sarah
