Thanks, Pam, for your generosity in sending the seeds. In all honestly I haven't planted any brug seeds I've been sent yet. I am so afraid none of them will grow!! But...I am going to bite the bullet this weekend and start. I don't have grow lamps and all them thar fancy stuff here in boothill so will just be relying on the good old desert sun. If I can get them to look like you'alls on the forum I will be truly blessed.
thanks for seeds
Awwwww Joanie, we all learned at one time...and be to honest trial and error is the best way for me to learn. Then I know when something doesn't work, not to do it again. Funny, that's the way I am in life too LOL!
Just feel free to ask all the bruggie's here if you have questions. Everyone has been there before.
Julie
P.S. Pleased to meet you Joanie and welcome :)
Yes, Joanie, Julie is right - just jump in there and do what you think is best. These wonderful plants are very forgiving. I had never rooted much and seldom ever used seeds, always bought my plants at the nursery - these brugs made me look like I had a clue what I was doing, which I totally did not. Keep us posted with your progress and it's good to have you join us!!!
Joanie, Think of it as your own creation that took a special plant to make this seed and a special friend to send the seed to you, and your loving care to raise it into a beautiful plant that can continue the process! Like parenthood! Have fun!
Bonnie
Joanie you will do fine with the desert sun.
I don't have much sun here in the winter. The first year I started seeds I put them on a table next to the woodstove so the soil would be warm. Most of them sprouted even without artificial lights. I kept the seedlings on the windowsill.
I can't wait to see pictures of your blooms this summer. :)
Thanks, everyone, for your encouragement. We will see how we do!!
Take the plunge Joani they will never grow sitting in a bag LOL
I'm sure you will do fine with them. Don't worry, they might not all grow, but you will have great luck, I'm sure. Just jump in and have fun.
Joanie, the worst part is worrying about it - I was afraid I'd kill mine and it would be too late to get others going. When I finally took the plunge, mercy did I ever start learning. I had some failures but they were minor compared to the success. I think maybe that's why lots of us like to have a whole bunch of brugs, in case we kill one, we have backups. But when you first start, every single seed is almost like a real baby. I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine!!!!!
Best of luck, Joan. You be fine growing them.
