on Northern Peaks. They measured 4 1/2 inches long.
These are the longest tendrils I've ever seen.
This is a Ludger cross.
Hmm, if I click on the red x I can see the picture.

Very long tendrils....
WOW, I've never seen tendrils that long either!! It looks like it's being grown in the ground but you are in zone 4a - is it a green house??? Which brug is it?? I'd LOVE to see the rest of the blossom...
That's totally wow! Lucky you to get a Ludger cross.
:) Donna
That second picture is really good. Cute granddaughter too.
What a precious child!!! The brug is just breathtakingly beautiful, so healthy and wonderful leaves. Who is she??
Holy smokes ... I think those are the longest ones I have ever seen posted. Beautiful. GD is a real cutie.
Another wow! Highly impressive......... I just love those spider tendrils!
Your GD is a cutie-pie!
Jackie
The side view is the one I remember seeing before. Awesome tendrils.
Snow, Those tendrils are so impressive. I look forward to this one being available for release or sale. LMK please when you could let a cutting go. If you are holding on to this one for breeding I understand. Great flower cinnabor
Thanks everyone.
SherryLike I grow all my Brugs in the ground during the summer. This one is called Northern Peaks.
cinnabor she is a 2004 seedling and it will be awhile before she's big enough to get any cuttings.
I'll need to evaluate her for another growing season before she is released as she bloomed late last year.
I hope to see her growing in many gardens before long.
Whew ! Simply beautiful bloom .
Wow, I agree with your GD, it looks like big spider legs.
MAN, those are the longest tendrils I have ever seen!
WOW, those tendrils are awsome ! GD is a cutie too :)
WOW!
I agree, WOW! The tendrils are incredible. Great photo with your GD; she's a cutie pie!
Your granddaughter is a cutie!
The length of the tendrils is amazing.
Is very beautiful Terry. Love those huge serrated leaves too.
I just had to look at these photos again.
They are really something! So graceful.
Reminds me of Fu Manchu.
I will be waiting for more pictures...
Jackie
Beautiful bloom with such long tendrils, but an even more beautiful granddaughter.
Snowhermit, what is 'late in the season' in zone 4a and when does your season start? It sounds very cold - how do you winter her?? What ever you have to do, it's definitely worth it!!!
Thanks everyone. She does have an awesome flower and I can't wait to see her in bloom again this summer.
Little Amber and her brother are my garden helpers in the summer. They each have a Mountain Magic cutting that they have been wintering over so they will have their very own Brug to plant this summer.
SherryLike late in the season is around August. Since these are new seedlings it takes some of them till then to flower. I don't have time to see several flushes before frost.
My season starts around June 1st and ends by the middle or end of Sept. Way to short.
Wow What a beauty..............I sure hope she does well for you.
DG is a sweetheart too.........
Best of luck with the new Brug.
Dee
Terry, our season is way too short too....I feel your pain.
You are to be commended for what you do in so short a time, because it is nothing short of wonderful!
Jackie
those are truly amazing
Reminds me of a Daddy long legs spider. Love it.
Snow, WOW from me too, and darling GD. I expect you have that spider brug safely in your house or gh for the winter. Hope it performs well for you this season and that you get good growth and many cuttings as you know we all want a start. donna
Terry, Hows you bears doing these days? Beautiful GD she out shines the brug. Hope spring comes early for you. So you can continue with your wonderful brugs. You have the nack. cinnabor
Cinnabor, maybe the bears are still in their winter sleep. They know it isn't time for Terry to put the Brug plants out yet. LOL
You know Terry we have a really long growing season here and I would love to "Test" just about any brug you have................LOL........
I think South Texas has so much to offer in the way of growing brugs but on occision we do get caught with our pants down like we did this past Christmas. Never before have we seen such a "Snow Storm" and felt the wrath of Mother Nature on all our plants. This happened so suddenly and almost without warning as you can see from this Brug covered in snow. The tree was in bloom the day before and no sign of any frost or freeze damage.
This was from my biggest Isabella tree.,
dee
That is a great picture Dee. The bloom color with the snow is gorgeous.
This is what it's all about! Terry and Ludger, the Northern Peaks brug is totally unique in itself! I love the long tendrils. Your GD is precious, and she does have a point! Looks like a huge spider at that LOL!
Julie
P.S. I agree, lucky you to have one of Ludger's seedlings :-D
That is so beautiful Snowhermit! WOW! Lucky You!
