Japanese style garden

Victoria,, BC(Zone 8b)

This is a pictures of the garden (taken last autumn) that was inspired by the Better Gnomes & Garden display. I thought I had better start a new posting as I had hi-jacked the RU trades thread !

Looks like you have a gorgeous garden. Very nice. Love the peaches and cream brug too.

Very, very pretty, Heather. Jeanne is right, your garden is gorgeous. Do you have garden tours in Victoria? If they do, you should show yours off. Do those ornamental grasses survive all winter in your garden or do you have to replant each spring? Which ones are those? I would love to get a little bridge like that and incorporate it into my pond area somehow. Thanks for sharing you lovely photos. :Donna

Thank you Jeanne and Donna, but those pictures were the best part of the garden ! And it photographed particularly well. The grasses have lasted two years now and I leave them in all winter and cut them back in spring. So far so good ! I have kept all the tags but can't remember which is which.

You are so lucky to be able to keep your grasses going. For the rest of us, they just don't winter well. Can you leave your Brug in the same spot too. I think I am gonna cry...:(

It's lovely Heather! In my dreams my yard looks that good!!

Your garden looks lovely Heather. It looks like you have a really nice, diverse collection of plants.

Thank you for all the comments but really you should see some of the other areas of the garden (some of you will !) No Donna , the Peaches & Cream brug (which I got from Liz) came inside and is sitting at the dining room window which faces south, I did not want to let that one go dormant - the rest are moping in the greenhouse.
Yes Sandy, I do have a diverse collection of plants (nice way of saying mish-mash, which is how my DH describes it) but I like to try new things and can't let anything go !

Wow! Heather, your garden is delightful. Thanks for these photos - I hope to be able to see it in person soon!

Heather, your yard is simply gorgeous!! Luv your Japanese Garden!!! Beautiful variegated Brug. I was given a variegated one from the Head Gardener of Muttart Conservatory. So far it is still alive in my basement. This is the first year for me to winter brugs there.

Having seen Heathers Garden, she really does have a great spot. It's really green and lush. Her DH is into roses so theres lots of them around as well. The front gardens are nice too, Heather posted once of a deer sitting in her garden, resting and having lunch. Maybe she'll post it again hint hint. Maybe she'll even post a picture of her blooming plumeria. (is it still blooming?)

Heathers place is only 5 min from mine, so I'd think there's an excellent chance of seeing her place.

Linda
