Type 2 Diabetes, anyone?

Having been rushed to the hospital 10 days ago with respiratory complications due to the Flu and COPD, I was consequently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. This is a new ball game for me, but I have found a few good diabetic sites with recipes, etc. So far, I've managed to avoid the old Insulin routine for the most part, and Doc hopes a pill a day with diet and exercise will do the trick.
Anyone else have this problem?
