Hi!I really, really, would love to get some alfalfa seeds for my grandpa. He's starting a new herb garden, and all I here is how much he needs alfalfa seeds. Please help me out.
Thanks,Chelsea
Wanted:alfalfa
Dumb question for ya Chelsea, but have you thought to try a grain and feed store?
Yes,we couldn't find any:(
I have "Nitro-Alfalfa" from Territorial that I believe I bought in 2003. This is a non-dormant alfalfa that's generally used as a cover crop or "green manure" for nitrogen fixing purposes, so I don't know if that will do the trick for your grandpa. I think Territorial also sells alfalfa seeds as one of their "seeds for sprouting." Come to think of it, you might find the seeds in a health food store too.
Send me SASE with a note if you want the Nitro-Alfalfa. I put a few seeds in to sprout just now to test viability, but I can't believe most wouldn't still be viable, and I can send you plenty. Good luck!
Thanks,Jill!I will send you the sasbe soon.

You might want to check with your grandpa & see how he intends to use the alfalfa. I haven't ever eaten anything other than alfalfa sprouts, and those weren't from these seeds, so if he's planning to juice the alfalfa or anthing, then I couldn't guarantee the results with the seed I have on hand.... On the other hand, if he wants a quick crop to till into the soil to enrich his new herb garden area, then the Nitro Alfalfa will be just the ticket!
You can send postage at your leisure, as I have BEs on hand; just LMK if this variety really is what you want....
He just wants to grow it to say he has:)Any kind will do.

OK, I'll get a little 2x3" packet right out to you. LMK if more than that is needed! Hope he has fun with his garden!
I tossed in a little basil, too.
Thanks so much!

Just wanted to follow up about the germination test I started a couple of days ago..... Seeds are at least 90% sprouted already, so the seed is definitely still viable.
If anybody else wants seed for postage, LMK, as there's plenty (and I have no plans for it).
