Hi all! If you would like to do some 'advance' planning of trades, please, check out my lists. Starting early, means less to order. Thanks!
seeds/plants/small divisions
I would love some Japanese Painted Fern. I'm trading elsewhere for pink candle celosia and I'll share!
I'd like some of your black-eyed susan vine. Check out my list & see if anything tempts you.
Girls,
Thanks for the interest in my post. I'm a newbie and don't know if I made my post in the correct manner. I posted the 'want' and 'will have' list for actual plant trades (DIVISIONS). Is there a different method I could have used? Is this site, mainly, for seeds? I find trading plants, much more, rewarding. I prefer to stick the plant , in the ground, instead of, the seed in the ground! I assume the rule here is, seed for seed, plant for plant. correct? Sorry, I should have asked questions first, posted later!
The site started as a seed tracking site, and grew from there. So, you might say, our "roots" are in seed trading.
Having said this, however, we've gone way past just trading seeds. I even renamed the "Seed Trading" forum to the "Trading" forum, so that people can trade plants and stuff, as well.
Sometime soon (so much to do... sigh) I'm going to rework the lists a little bit to make it easier to show people if what you have are seeds or plants. That's not going to happen today, though. :)
Dave
This is Dave's. There are no rules. You say what you want. Post first, think later!
i am interested in your Japanese Painted Fern and athyrium.

Hi Dave,
Nice to meet you and the others. It is so wonderful to talk to 'plant people' during the winter.
I have done some winter sowing outdoors ( 2 weeks ago), in containers. I will probably start some plants, under lights, in a few weeks. Lining up trades early, to me, makes sense. I like to start, as few seeds, as I can, so lining up plants, beforehand, allows me to save money and time invested.
My first trade was with a gentleman in Ca. We traded 7 plants at once. That was great! We both received plants, that we had been wanting, but did not want to spend the money! I loved receiving the sm. divisions, in good shape, and he was very generous, as he said I was, also. This cost about 5.00 to ship.
Notmartha, I would like to trade for the knautia. I keep a record of my pending trades. I will contact you, in spring. The Japanese Fern is yours! See, one less plant you have to buy! It's a great fern.
Hi Deanne,
Since the Japanese P.Fern is a plant offering, is anything on your list, also available as a plant? Thanks!
NOTMARTHA, DORIE! SORRY!!!
If you have any more painted fern, would love to have some, also the stella de ora daylily. I have gingerlily rhizomes, bronze shrimp plant(would need time to start some rootings, not done yet), spider lily bulbs (red that bloom in fall), narcissus(paperwhites), seeds are listed on my have page. Thanks
Oh, forgot, I also have what I was told is walking iris (according to what I read on an email I received, this may also be the same as African iris). Produces little plantlets on stems.
I Love the idea of'plant swap'.My 'ability and knowledge of seed starting',is ..well lets say...on ongoing 'attempt and learning...' Divisions,I CAN DO...
I will have orange lilys,french/and Reg.lilac tree starts.Forcissias(again w/the spelling!)Crape murtle 3 colors,Apple(red delic)peaches(free stone)plums(lite grn) I also have the plums as seed NOW.
Oaks,cedars,hickory,old roses(genu unknown)..wht/pink,silver maples.sweet gum(seeds avlb.Now)
Asparg,Rhubarb(TRADE ONLY)I need the red kind!!
I know I'll have more, thinking I should wait to post thou. i attempted thinning my Peonys this year,NOT sure how many are gonna make it all the way...LOL.

Kim,
Hope we have an early spring. I thought, when I found these forums, it would make 'waiting til spring 'easier. AAHHA, I don't know! Sure have a lot of things, I would like to get started on. So for now, all my plants, are on paper. Hope to trade, later!
