Robbie, Are these the seeds you're looking for or have?
It will take forever to get a vine from seeds. I would recommend going back to your 'old' place and digging a plant - the new owners will probably be GLAD to give you all you want!
Yes I have some Robbiie, I got them in a trade. Be back Later... have a doctor's appt.

Hey Kimmie I am looking for P.Incarnata, by the way i put the balsam in the mail to you today, Enjoy Them.
Kay:Yea i know its gonna take for ever for it to do anything,
And I am going to go and dig some up in may but i really want to get one going before then.
If the seed is fresh it will only take me about a week soaking it in h202 and water for it to be ready to pot up.
And then about 2 more weeks till it pops up from the dirt.
I wish all of the passi seed i have were fresh it would make it a lot easier.
But i have had to soak them for 3 weeks if they aren't fresh.
Nature Walker:Thank You i will be waiting. :}
Have a Good Afternoon Ladies

Robbie, can you remember if it was you that sent me the special hardy incarnata seed a little while back? Either way, you're welcome to some! Whomever sent them was more than generous and I even found the large pack of incarnata seed that I thought I had lost.
P.S. Can't this flower the first year if started early inside?
Good Morning Ladies Hope All is Well.
Nature Walker, yes that will be wonderful what would you like in return?
Captmicha, Yea I think i sent you some.
I didn't even stop to think I would ever need any seed since i had the mother vine.
But I am thankful you are all here to my rescue.
I have heard that they will flower the first year from seed but i haven't put it to the test yet.
I sure hope its true i would love that.
What would you like in return?
Thank You Ladies! and Have a Good Morning!
Can I please have a little of each of these?

Robbie,
back in Oct. you generously sent me some as well. I'll have to look for them cause I need to get them planted too but I'd be happy to send you some if you want?
Back in 2000, I bought 12 fresh seed. In Feb. '01, I planted the seed but first stratesfied them & soaked them in orange juice for 24 hrs. as in the directions I was given. By April, I had 12 strong little plants going. I shared some with a neighbor, gave most away to family and kept three for myself. I planted them in the ground when the danger of frost was over & one vine grew much faster than the other two. By June, the longer vine started forming its buds & later flowered. The others although not as big as the other also started to form buds & bloom. Two of the vines did set fruit & I harvested the seed. Then in Feb. '2 we moved two states away & sold our house. In the move, I lost the seeds & still to this day haven't found them. Robbie was so generous to me by sharing seeds with me so I will try growing them again.
Gemila
Gemila so the way to start passiflora seeds is to soak them in orange juice? Could you please explain all the instructions.
Thanks, Donna
I was told to put my seeds had already been statisfied (keep in the refrigerator for several weeks). The directions the seller gave me were to put the seeds in a small amount of ready to drink orange juice for 24 hrs. then with a nail file, scratch the outer coating of the seed & then sow. I did an experiment only scratching 6 of the seeds & planting the other 6 after all were soaked for 24 hrs. All twelve seeds germinated fine but did notice the once I scratched a bit with the nail file, did germinate a day or so sooner than the other six. If I remeber correctly, I was told the acid in the orange juice helped soften the outer coating to help in germination.
I found this site that also recommends soaking in juice (scroll half way down) http://www.b-and-t-world-seeds.com/28756.htm
Here is another that says that it can take upto 3 months for germination; http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/us/en/product/7221/1
there are other sites too & they mention that the germination can be slow & erratic. For me, soaking the seed worked so I will definately do that again...just got to find them first. Put them away so I wouldn't loose them but now since I moved things around because of a water pipe leak, I don't remeber where I put them.
Thanks for the info, Gemila. Now are the passiflora seeds supposes to be in the fridge for awhile? I sent some seeds to Jody that I had bought off ebay. I haven't started them myself yet so it's all new to me.
:) Donna
Robbie!
Did you check for my new address in the 'Extras?'
Thanks for the trade Robbie.
