I know it is unlikely but can anyone ID this yellow, it was from a cutting. Joelle

Very pretty, Joelle. Wish I could tell you which it is.

That is stunning...I love the tree form with the canopy of blooms ~ thanks for sharing! It's like a ray of sunshine.

Can I ask why it's unlucky? For that matter, what's unlucky, and why? I'm new here so forgive my asking.

Unlikely, Rich instead of unlucky.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

They are NEVER unlucky........

Possibly Dr. Seuss? It was my first brug. Everyone seems to have had it at one time. Good bloomer, smells divine.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'd go along with Hibiscus. It looks like Suess. If not, maybe CG, but it looks a little too yellow for CG. It sure is a beauty.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Very hard to ID a yellow. There are so many out there. Here we have a nursery that plants seeds from CG x Dr. Suess I believe. But luckily, yours is just gorgeous!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It looks like Dr Suess but there's so many lookalikes now I think it would be impossible to give it a definite ID.

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

My Dr Seuss starts yellow but turns gold. It sure is loaded.

OK, thanks for you help everyone,I have the opinions of some great brug eyes- much appreciated. It will just have to stay the 'unknown' that could be Dr. Seuss. Joelle

Hi Fellow Gardner:

Saw your posting: I am trying to do a Standard Angel's Trumpet. My first Standard of any kind. How tall do you let it grow before having it branch off. The lowest/highest leaves are 2 feet tall. Any more advice. It's an indoor plant, we live in zone 4. I will have my greenhouse hooked electrically to heat this comming winter though.

Thanks. Linda

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

The leaves look like "Whiskers"

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

whatever it is, it is beautifull, (do you need a home for it) LOL

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

ADK
you don't pinch them off
they will Y by themselves when they are ready to
from then on you should never prune it lower than that Y
If you start out pinching them back at 2 foot you'll end up with a bush
If you want a short standard its best to let one grow till it Y's and then cut it off and root the top portion as your standard
