This is a Isabella cutting that I received from JJsgarden, would someone tell me if this is a Y forming. I read a forum once and someone wrote that you would know when you have a Y started, will I think it is a Y, but not for sure. HELP

It sure is Linda. There could even be the beginning of a bud or two in there. LOL! Congrats.

Thanks Brugie, I am soooo excited.

Thanks to JJsgarden for all the cuttings she shared with me. They are all doing so good.

Another thanks to Kaufmann for the seeds she sent me, they have stepped up to a gallon container for growing. They too, are doing good.

NOW, I only have to wait for some buds.

I think I see buds on your second picture, but it probably would be best to give it a week and know for sure.

Now, don't go lookin' it to death. LOL!

That "Y" stands for Yes, Yes, Yes...it's almost showtime! LOL

You think they are buds, I thought they were leaves forming. I sure hope you are right.

You are right brugie I have to quit looking at this plant, my eyes are starting to criss cross. In a few weeks I will take another picture and post it and let you see what has happened.

LOL yes, its buds. There might be more, but there is two on the branch right in the picture. Congratulations :)

Linda, the buds are in the / place where Y comes together. You probably have a 6-week wait, so don't 'look them to death'. Oh, the excitement!!

Terrific! It's a great adrenaline rush, isn't it?! :~)

What fun. And I see a Y and then it Yed again! The first bud usually is in the crotch of the Y. And I see them!! Bud time is here. LOL

Kell you are right there is another Y, I had to take another look at my plant and sure enough there it is. Is that unusual?

Shirley1md, the adrenaline is still pumping, I read last week that a Brug hardly ever Y's until it gets around 4 ft. tall. So I really hadn't been watching for one. My plant is only about 2 ft. tall.

Maybe in a couple of months I can post a picture of a flower. I hope when a bud comes on it doesn't fall off, I would sit down and cry.

It all depends where the cutting was taken. A cutting taken from the top region, the flowering region, can Y and flower very quickly and very short! A new seedling usually wants to be about 4 ft at least before it Ys though I have had some seedlings Y at much shorter this last year and some that go to 7 feet before they Y.

Your plant will keep Ying,. That is how it grows. And you will get flowers at each Y! Let the fun begin!

gosh kell I have seedlings that are 3 and 4 feet tall and no sign of a Y, and here sits my little Maya not even a full 7 inches, Yd and hdd a flower, it must be your touch kell

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Doris, but thanks but no! Your Maya is from a cutting not a seedling. And I obviously cut a piece for you from the top of my plant after it Yed. So it was already to start blooming on its own. Your seedlings have never Yed so it will take them a while. Thyey may even go 7 to 8 ft before they Y. But I bet when spring hits, they will take off. Start fertizing them! I can't wait to see what you get.
