my courtyard was my paradise and not a flooded concrete slab full of soggy wet leaves, devoid of any color!
I remember whhen
Oh, Kell, everytime I see that picture, I turn green with envy. It is such a wow!
I want a courtyard, just like that. LOL
Your courtyard is gorgeous!
Okay Kell, please identify all those other goodies.
Sidney
Oh you want me to think! I can't yet. LOL I was up till 2:30 AM talking to Monika and then I got up at 6:30 to call a friend. I couldn't get thru, but on my way back to bed I had to just check my emails and ended up on Dave's and never got off. The story of my life.
JUST BEAUTIFUL !!!!
Oh how I love the Leo's. Mine are blooming in the GH now. Looks so fabulous Kell
An absolute paradise
Thanks. All of them are in pots in my courtyard, so I can rearrange them all.
I was going to ask Donna what Leos then the lightbulb went off! LOL
Not the lion, Kell. LOL
You make me long for summer now. Beautiful picture.
I envy your tropical paradise! Can I come live in your garden?
Just one of my very favorite pictures of yours ... beautiful Kell!!
Just beautiful. What is the flower on the left?
The big purple tree on the right corner is a Solanum rantonnetti that I have trained into a tree. It is the only one planted in the ground. The rest are in pots. The orange one is a Leonotis and I believe it is Leonotis leonurus. It is the perennial one. Then on the right there is shoot...........my mind went blank. It is the one that comes in ground cover and standards. Profuse little clusters of bloom in different colors. Now this will make me nuts trying to remember the name. LOL
The first pic is from the 2003 summer. Here is a picture from 2004 summer.
Oh I just have to stop looking at this forum, it's driving me nuts with spring fever. This last photo is just too much beauty for a winters day LOL Thanks for all the help Kell
I swear you live in Heaven on Earth!
Thanks. Every year I do it a bit differently. I love color. Never too gaudy for me. I am starting to love contrasting almost clashing colors together now. I will never win a prize bu t I sure have fun!
They sure don't look gaudy to me. I love all your colors.
Kell,
I love the lion's tail, wild thing that it is. I guess I am gaudy too.... I want people passing by to notice, and those color combinations definitely turn heads!
I would love to add the Leo to my border, but what I've read is that it takes awhile to put on a show. That might not work because my growing season isn't all that long. Any ideas on where I might find a started plant or 2? Or should I just do the seed thing after all?
Jackie
Beautiful, Kell!! I was surprised by your first post. Do you mean you don't have year-round gorgeous weather?
Kell, what wonderful gardens you have, I'm green.........
Jackie, I have no idea where to find them. If you remind me at the end of summer, I will send you some seeds.
Tunnels, I wish! LOL. I live in Northern California. We have sunny weather in the 60s and 70s from April on. Nights all summer go down to the 50s. We have no storms or even any rain at all (not even 1 day) from May to November. Then Nov to April it rains lots. In the summer the hills are brown but in the winter they are so green!
Thanks all. I am into bougainvilleas now. They really add long lasting splashes of intense color.
Kell, despite the rain, I do believe you have the perfect weather. Your flowers are always so vibrant (and huge)!
Just like me. LOL!
Thanks Kell, I hope that I remember to ask. They look like something out of a Dr. Suess book.
