I spent 4 hours from midnight to 4AM taking pictures of just my Cream sickle
I remember wwhen
And you take such beautiful pics, Kell.
OH...to die for....
kell....now I know why it has been so quiet here lately! Welcome back...I love it!!!
Bea-u-ti-ful!!!
OK kell, I checked all three of your "same heading" threads and just as I suspected, beautiful Brug's in each thread, I can almost smell them :)
Well worth it!... (easy for me to say, I'm sure), the pictures are gorgeous. (Funny how I use that word all the time to describe how I feel when I see these special Brugs).
Kell, is that a double or a triple? I just love the girlie-girl look of those flowers.
Drooling on my keyboard...not very lady like...
Here plant_fiend, share my kleenex
So far my favorite double
at least of the ones I've seen in person.......
love your pictures Kell
Plant-fiend, seeing how you are a neighbor, I will cut you a piece. It has lots of die back on the tops of all her branches, I left her out this year. So I won't cut her till this rain stops and we get some sun to dry her out. So if you can wait........
kell....could you, would you, please give Plant-fiend a cutting for me as well....??? :->
We live very close to each other and I could pick it up from her!
Margie
Sure Margie, just give me a little time. I do not want fresh cuts on any of the brugs in this wet weather. Rot may happen.
Thank you very much kell !!! You are a sweetheart !!! BTW...how is your mom doing? I think of her alot.
She is doing so much better!!! She is still in the ICU but maybe she will get transferred out sometime this week if she keeps getting better. After 10 weeks of not eating anything, they are reteaching her to swallow. My brother is going to bring her in a big vanilla ice cream from me today! I can't wait till she can get phone calls.
Great about your Mom kell, it is so worrisome when they are not well, I bet she will love that icecream
What a nice treat, Kell. She'll love the ice cream.
kell...I am so glad for you both that your mom is doing better. What a worry when you are so far away.
I hope it will be no time before she will be out of ICU and on her road home.
Best wishes on your up-coming surgery too.
Margie
I want to add that I am happy your mom is headed in the right direction. I know it did her good to have you there when she needed you the most.
Only a matter of time til you can talk to each other on the phone. :)
By the way, does your brother deliver to Buffalo? It's cold outside, but vanilla ice cream sounds good right about now!
That is good news about your mom Kell .... I bet that ice cream is going to taste good to her.
I hope your mom is on the road to a swift and complete recovery!!! That is the most beautiful brug ever, wowie!!! Is it possible that something that gorgeous might grow in Arky??
Doris, LOL, thanks for sharing. After reading about Kell's generous offer, I really need some tissue! Now I'm shedding tears of joy!
Kell, Margie emailed me this morning and she mentioned you were sending Creamsickle and I was so thrilled I was doing the happy dance. Then I came home from work and thought maybe Margie was mistaken, so I emailed her and said don't worry if it was someone else, although I secretly wished she wasn't mistaken! Anyhow, I'm babbling, and I really am shy! I am happy to wait and thank you for sharing such a special plant with me.
I am so glad to hear your mother continues to improve. Bless you both.
Don't you remember, I offered you lots of brugs last year but you had all the ones I mentioned! I do share at times. LOL I must not have mentioned Cream sickle! I may have to think of another one you do not have!
Ophs...I just saw this latest post from plant_fiend and kell...right after I copied and pasted it to plant_fiend !!! Now, plant_fiend will have a copy of it in her e-mail as well.....
OK plant_fiend just REMEMBER I shared :)
The color in your Creamsickle is so pretty. Mine only gets this color in the early spring and fall and in the summer it stays white. It is also one of my favorites because it blooms it head off all summer long in full sun and it never wilts. It is one of my strongest brugs as far as taking the heat and hot sun. The leaves don't even wilt on it. I wish this gene was in more of the brugs so that they would stay pretty in very high temps.
Kell, you may have me mixed up with someone else...I really am a newbie to Brugs. Margie gave me my first Brug plant last Oct/Nov and a few cuttings. I've also rec'd a few cuttings and seeds from others. I'm growing my first seeds in Rockwool based on info I learned right here.
I have been reading about them and admiring the photos for over a year now. At first I thought they must be hard to grow, but from all the information you and others have shared it seems like they really are tough plants. I believe you said before that these plants really want to live.
While I don't have Brugs to share (yet), I do have lots of other goodies and I will do my best to find something special for yor garden.
Don't worry Doris, like most other gardeners, I love to share. Have you started your spoon daisy seeds? Let me know how they do.
BrugNanny, great information on the growth habits. I'm so excited! Hugs, Kell!
I stand corrected! I just went back to my Dave's email (I just love Dave's email so much!) and found out who it was. I was going on that you lived in San Jose. It was MMQC, a real nice lady from San Jose too. I had written her in Oct. this: (we were talking about sangs)
"his are all virused!!! Forget them. they virus easily! I have 4 pods on mine. I have some seedlings too in gallon pots. I was thinking you could come by my work, I would give you a few big cuttings. Which brugs do you have already?
Arborea seems to self pollinate before they even open. And you just do not know till you grow out the seeds.
Do you know Margie? maybe you could drop some off at her house for me too. "
Anyway, we determined she had tons of brugs already so she settled for some Arborea seeds I had.
Listen, I will email you before I send the Cream sickle for I am sure I can find a few more for you to enjoy and we can discuss it! And thanks for your kind offer, but my garden is overflowing! And I just went on a rose binge. I am pathetic!!
I love Creamsickle, the color is sooo pretty and soft. I am sure hoping to get some crosses with mine this year..........
Your pictures are just beautiful and I really enjoy looking at them again and again.
Dee
lol, yep, that was me. i wish my lot of brugs would bloom so i will know if they're duds or not. it's kind of frustrating.. i think one time i received two butterfly cuttings and they turned out to have different leaves. they still haven't bloomed yet so i have no idea what they really are.
I bet they take off in another month or 2. You will find if you have many, that lots of them are not all that. I know my taste got more and more refined as my eye was able to see the details between them all. When you are new to brugs, they all look the same or similar. Or they did to me. Now I have very specific likes and dislikes. I could toss more than half of the brugs I am growing.
I am looking for a very dark pink brug with big flowers. Sexy Lady could be the one but her colors is not near dark enough. But she has so many great characteristics, like bugs do not go near her.
When I get that perfect brug, I will be happy!
I'd like about the same thing Kell, except I'd like it to LOVE my zone and bloom all season and smell like heaven and be totally unattractive to bugs...I'm still novice enough that I love the beautiful pinks I have, even tho some are unknown...
We need to import Monika here with all her brugs. LOL
