Hi All, I am planing this years garden and deciding what has to find a new home to make room for this years babies. Does anyone want to adopt some irises for postage. Here is a picture, I will be adding plants to this as I make my plans. I won't be digging them until the third week of June. Sorry I don't know its name. Joelle

This look wonderful-I would be interested.
Please, let me know .
Ingrid
Nice historic Joelle. Could you please send me a picture direct. I'll see if I can ID it maybe. One of the Historical Iris people might be able to ID it. Looks like a Sass 1930/40 maybe.

If you have enough, Joelle, I'd love one. Such a beautiful color. I will certainly send you a bubble envelope with address and postage intact. Thanks so much.
edited to say: I too would love all that you have offered, Mrs Claus! When all is said and done, let us know the approx. size to send postage and container for, will you please? Me thinks I must send you some surprises in return for your kindness! :Donna

I have enough for everyone to have at least five fans each. If you want Wabash too everyone can have it (white standards, purple falls, yellow beard) I can probably send everyone 2 fans of this maroon one, and one or two fans of this yellow with brown. Shipping won't be bad at all because I will trim them down to a few inches of leaves. Edit your posts to which you want. I have a heritage peony in white and a pink. If anyone wants those too.
Could I have a piece of a white peony for my box?
:) Donna
WOW, Donna you are fast ! I didn't even get my pics posted. Yes everyone can have any or all of these listed. I will post some perr. mums tomorrow. Red and pink. Joelle
Ginny I will resize and email a pic. to you thanks so much! I will send the other two too! Just incase they know those also. Thanks Joelle
Pam I hope your drink has some Vodka in it! LoL
Post is edited above. Ü
I have edited too, Joelle. Thanks so much. :-o
Wouldn't mind any peonies you have Joelle. Why are you dividing them?
Last year I gave away a peony that I had grown from seed. Was supposed to be a yellow - honey gold. When it finally bloomed after 4 years, was it -- NO. Bright red. Did liberate one last year from a vacant lot that the city kept mowing down. Will see if it blooms this year. And see what colour it is.
Your yellow and brown iris is very very old. First one registered quite like that is called Honoribile, 1840. For years thought that was what I had but after the internet arrived, found lots like that, all slightly different.
Ginny
I quite see your problem!! Your back lane is quite beautiful. It will be quite a job to dig some bits off the peonies.
Your greenhouse is total BLISS> Can you keep everything growing all winter? Do you keep your geraniums in their baskets all winter, just cutting them back?
It really is interesting to see how diff. DGers garden.
Thanks for sharing.

Your flowers and greenhouse looks wonderful. I have different type of peonies as well. Maybe, in the Spring we could see the types we have and share.
Ingrid
Oh Joelle what a lovely greenhouse and to think I haven't been there yet!?! I'm really slipping! :S
Thank you for your very generous offer! Ü
p.s. It's time to change the message on your answering machine! ;)

Ginny, I kept some Geraniums growing, but the 'bedding out ' ones are in cold storage. Most of the warmer climate plants go semi dormant out there, I lower the temp, don't fertilize, and cut back on the water. I have just started heating it up and fertilizing in the last week or so.
Ingrid I would love to see your peonies! But a trade is not necessary at all- you are welcome to any of mine. I won't have the heart to dig them until after they bloom in June- sorry.
LoL at Pam, I ran to the phone thinking it said Merry Christmas! And it did! I was thinking maybe Happy New year. Darn I have missed Valentines Day, what is next St. Patricks day ? teehee

how about ru day??? and where are these greenhouse pictures every one is talking about??? would love some of that mum - how old is the clump?
Lynn, It took me awhile to figure out RU day, but I finally got it! lol I think there is just the one GH pic in this thread on Dave's. The mum is only a few years old, I will have to wait till spring to see the name tag, you want the red too? It is a beautiful deep dark color- can't find a pic.
Pam I see you are still awake- get to bed!
There's still 5 kids here that aren't mine! :b
What's your excuse????
Joelle,
Cannot ID your iris. Will keep trying but may be impossible.
Ginny
Joelle, I'd love the yellow bearded iris and the maroon--had some a few years back but they didn't like their location and died before blooming. I have that same mauve and purple iris as you do; am hoping Ginny can I.D. it!
Also, would like a peony--whatever colour you can spare. Here is a haiku for all us not-so-young iris lovers.. why are haikus so often morbid?

IRIS, BLUE EACH SPRING.

Joelle, I've no idea what the postage would be--how about a stained glass trade instead--a smalll suncatcher of an iris, perhaps?
Rosemary
Ginny, thanks for researching the Irsi- much appreciated!
Rosemary, I can tell you in June what shipping is to BC, when I mail to a member there. If you are still interested then-remind me. Joelle
