They grow wild

Valley Village, CA

This is really not fair, we have mild winters where I am in a valley in So. Calif. they grow outside year around and can take all the sun you are willing to give them. We seldom go below 30F here, but I have mine under the orange tree so, they are in partial shade, and protected, no fertilizer, just the water that the rain gives them. I think I would have them flower well, if I gave them more sun. There is also a dwarf form called 'Peter Pan' There are many forms, in the way of color. Like the 'Huintington Blue' and some even toward purple, and there are white ones as well. Crasulady2

Ooops! Sorry , I didn't mean to get anyone's nose out of joint. I just report what I have, I didn't say I had a whole field of them. I do grow them and have done so for years, been in this house for 50 years. Norma

Being that I am living in the Los Angeles area, they grow very easily here. Used for landscaping for many public buildings, the have very large long flower stalks, they are easy to grow without much water, except for the rain, I grow them to keep the soil in and give some root support for my orange tree, I need to thin them out yearly. They grow rapidly here, and clump up. So to me they grow rapidly. Norma
