Can windows XP professional and home edition "talk" to each

other? I am considering getting a new computer. My current one has Windows XP home edition. Would there be an advantage in getting professional edition on the new one? DH would have my current one. If we networked them, could the two communicate with each other to network, if I got professional edition? I heard Windows xp can set up the network itself, once the cards are installed. Thanks for any help!
