I have several brugs that I have in my foyer and basement that have started putting new growth out from the roots. This is the earliest that I have had any to put out. Should I water them? Should I start to fertilize now or is it to early for that. I have one that has about 9 -10 new growths and they are about 15 inches high. I don't intend to put them outside until frost danger is gone. Thanks
Help
I would water lightly, don't cause them to rot. Sounds as if they are healthy and rarin' to go..... I have kept all mine growing in basement and upstairs all winter. I use ferilizer all the time. Have some buds even.
I start fertilizing mine in February.
Are we getting anxious, or what? I'm ready for spring and need lots of blooms!
Thanks and yeah we are. Going to be about 60 and sunny tomorrow I wanted to get a head start. I'll give them a little fertilizer also.
I agree -- they are ready to received fertilizer -- congrats on the new growth!
some of mine in the yard have started popping up through the mulch. Maybe this is a sign that winter is about over.
This post has inspired me! :)
I have never tried fertilizing until the plants go outside in the spring. Why not give them a jump start in hopes of earlier blooms?
Sure hope you are right Donna. I need spring real bad!
Sounds all so good. Spring is in the air!!
Gloria, post pics of your early bloomers. I have not walked around outside yet but I do not think I even have 1 bud.
I will, but mine are NOT outside!
I agree...so glad I read all of these posts. My momma is right, you learn something new everyday! On to fertilize.... :)
Who cares, Gloria? A bloom is a bloom is a bloom. I have none inside either! LOL.
