Keene, NH(Zone 5a)

so pretty-yet another plant I can't grow in 5a.....

The zone thing isn't going to stop me from trying to grow it as a container plant.

Monterey, have you grown this beauty from seeds before? I'm trying to germinate a few I got in a trade this past year, and I think they're starting to wake up after a week of soaking in water. I chipped the seed coat and have been soaking in hot water (water changed daily). I think I will put the seeds into moist paper toweling, put it into a ziploc baggie and put the seeds into a warm place to induce germination now. Is this a good plan?

PS I really like this picture...it's like a Rembrandt painting.

I got it at Lowes last year. they flower for a while and then nothing. I think it is to hot here, but they look nice once a year.

Your picture is a work of art, very nice.

Simply beautiful photo. It looks like it would certainly be worth waiting for the plant to bloom.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

What a dramatic picture. Just lovely!
