Hi Everyone...newbie here! I live in Lake County, in central Florida. I am brand new to gardening, and am VERY excited about getting started! I've done a TON of reading, and have some seedlings started, so I think I'm well on my way. I hope to someday get some kind of seeds available, so that I could start trading. I always seem to be a day late and a dollar short on the SASE offers! LOL
Well, hope everyone is having a beautiful day...thanks for such a great website!

Hello from sunny Central Florida!!
chrissy - let me be the first, but certainly not the last to welcome you to daves garden. i'm here in upstate new york, with snow still on the ground. just thinking about starting my seeds gets me excited. there are many of us who send seeds to each other just for the asking. are you looking for any seeds in particular. i have all vegetable seeds. alot of tomatoes. if interested, i'll be glad to let you know what i have and if its something you want e-mail me with address and i'll send you some of what i have. see, aren't we friendly on this site.
Well, this is really strange. My entire extended family is from Wappingers Falls/Poughkeepsie. I was born in Poughkeepsie! My grandparents live in Wappingers Falls, and are down here "being snowbirds" right now!
Welcome to the greatest garden you can find, Big hello from South Carolina!
Carolyn
Welcome from Iowa.
Glad to have you join our garden neighborhood here. You may find this place is addictive. :) You'll certainly learn a lot about plants and such, but you might find that what is best isn't the gardening information, but the people who make this site such a treasure.
Hi Chrissy. Welcome from sunny South Florida! Since you are brand new to gardening, what would you like to see growing in your garden one day?
Oh, delecie, what DON'T I want to see?! :) I love flowers, so I'm trying to learn what will tolerate the heat here (for both flowers and vegetables). My favorite color is purple, so I especially am interested in purple/blue flowers that will grow well here. I have a shady area on the north side of the house that I'd like to get planted also. I've recently discovered (thanks to this site) the wonder that is a brugmansia! I really do need a DG Addicts support group, I think!
Chrissy:
I love brugmansia also, among other things. Please take a look at the following links when you have time so you can see a bit of my garden: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/477237/

I was a new gardener in 2002 and it's amazing how far my garden has come in the short space of three years. However, you can see that I still have a lot of work to do if you look closely at some of the photographs. :-)
My garden would not be what it is today without the generosity of fellow DGers. Before you know it, your garden will be full and you'll be posting photographs of its' beauty.
Veronica, you amaze me. You really have done a lot in a short time and you've done such a good job.
Thank you for that wonderful compliment Brugie. I never could have done it without you and my other Brug friends. :-)
I was a new gardener in 2002 and Brugie was a great mentor and help to me!
