glass paint help

Any one using glass paint?? I want to sponge glass paint onto the side windows of my front door - does this sound like something that can be done? I was thinking of using a water based paint (I think this would be easier to remove). Has any one done this? Should I wait for the window to be a certain temp? It is in the low 30"s here. Any help appreciated!
