Hi < I just found this site today and spoke to Dave while I was signing up. This is so great. The forums on Yahoo and MSN have been a big disappointment for me. Spam and stuff just comes in and that is not what I want at all!
I sell plants for a living with a large commercial big box grower, I am fond of of herbs, veggies and grafted hibiscus. Here in Central FL we have a great growing season except when 4 hurricanes hit in one month! Yikes..that was awful. I hope to make friends here and contribute often.

hi beverly- welcome! i'm new too- but having lots of fun getting to know my way around- sounds like you're deep into the garden thing! lots of fellow addicts here...i mean... garden enthusiasts! sjms
Addicts is the right word, sjms! You will make so many friends and learn so much. I call it Disney for Gardeners.
Beverly we're having a plant swap next Saturday at Okeechobee.
Have you got any hints on how to grow thyme in Florida?
Nice to have new active follks on DG. Sidney
we are currently growing Thyme, mother is one variety and we are in West Palm Beach. It is a little tricky but it is hardy to zone 5 but likes sandy well drained soil and full sun to part shade. this time of year full sun and cut back to partial shde as it gets hotter. DO not give it excess nitrogen that will cause fungus! Hope this helps BEV
