my winter project

mississauga, ON(Zone 6a)

Hi all, Im new to DG , just want to show you all my winter project, it started out as an old bifold door. Im hoping to make it into a wall fountain if I can water proof it. if not just a garden decoration. I covered it with plaster paris soaked burlap. not even close to being finished but tell me what you think. Gisele

Good idea. You might be ableto paint it with silicone (sp) to waterproof it / Just an idea.

Gisele, it sounds ike a great project. I hope youfigure out what to do to make it work for you. What about using the rubber deck coating forhte water proofing? just an idea, and I've never attempted something like this, so it really is an idea from 'out there'.

Welcome to DG's.

Thanks all for the waterproofing ideas, I'll have to go to HD to see whats out there.

Linda this rubber deck coating that your talking about, can it be painted on?

and can you colour tint it?

The only stuff I've seen it when it's been rollered on to a deck. Maybe you could paint it on. I think it comes in grey and maybe green. Check out the hardware stores to see what they offer and whether it'll do the trick for you.

They also have paint that they use in swimming pools as well......might give you a few more color choices.

I like how you've given it ridges......much more interesting! :)
