Hi there! Could it be Robinia hispida (rose acacia?) I know it is defined as a shrub, but can top out over 10 feet in happy conditions. Jackie

Looks like Virgilia divaricata to me.

I thought the flowers reminded me of fabaceae.

Looks like cassia grandis...........coral pink shower tree ??

Houston, TX

Based off the tree being in Nicaragua, it looks like a cassia spp??(coral pink shower tree). I know that a similar tree cassia fistula(gold shower tree) is very similar in leaf, bean, and flower(only yellow clusters). There is also a cross between these two called the rainbow shower tree that have orange and multi-colored sprays of flowers. I have a cassia fistula in my parents house in New Orleans(zone 9a??) growing as large shrub since 1986. It occasionally freezes back to the ground(deep freezes in 1989 & 1997), but came back. It has flowered only twice, usually after a drought and then heavy rains. The foliage and bark are attractive, while the flowers are spectacular!! TP
