Frazzled WMP not responding

Well, Dell and I have tried it all to no avail. When I click on Windows Media Player at the desktop I get this msg:
Current webpage is trying to open a site in your trusted sites list. Do you want to continue. Current: go.microsoft.com - Trusted: wwwp.musicmatch.com
No matter the choice, yes no or exit the WMP locks up and says not responding. Err Signature sent is : szAppName:wmplayer.exe - szAppVer: 10.0.0.3646 - szMod Name:hungapp - szMod VEr: 0.0.0.0 offset:00000000
I have uninstalled the WMP and reinstalled on 4 occasions.
I have deleted all temp internet files
I have run a virus scan
And this morn Dell had be do the following:
Start
Run
type msconfig
ok
startup
disable all
apply, close and restart
When I did that I got the prompt after restarting of opened using system config utility, do not show msg again.
Then I couldn't even get online, so I rewent through all those above steps again and "enable" those I had disabled and am able to get back online, but still the WMP not responding msg.
Now, I can go to something like a news site and play a video using WMP and I can insert a music video disk and play it using "my computer dell experience. But cannot get past the WMP from the desktop?
