HELP..Please!!!!! ink cartridge problem

I installed a brand new color Lexmark cartridge. Printed one color picture and it was perfect. Assumed all was well..assumption wrong! The next page not only didn't print in color but the printing itself was weak-looking. I cleaned the cartidge head and tried again but still no luck. very frustrating to m e as I am a computer dummy..trust me on this. If you have any advice, please keep in mind that I am truly a computer novice. Thanks for any help you can give me as I'm dying to copy pics of flowers that I've ordered already for my gardens. jeani4
