I had some pollen sent to me by a friend...and the only brug I have blooming now is Shredded White. So...natch...I went to pollinate it....WHERE IN THE HECK IS THE STIGMA? All I could find were various parts of the petal in various stages of unrolling...no "innards". Does Shredded White have innards?

First Pollination Project
Hi Carol, I hope this works for you.

Oh the shredded can be very malformed inside. I know a few of mine had a very short but fat stigma. Very odd looking. And some had none. You may have to check a few flowers to get a good one. None of mine took.
A real easy site to see how to pollinate is Susie's little page she did. She has a few topics on different pages.

GOOD LUCK Carol!!
how long will the pollen be good in an airtight bag
I keep mine in the fridge for one season, double bagged. I've been told that some of it is good for up to two years. Many people keep it in the freezer and I don't know how long it would be good frozen.
well I took some from my Maya, and it is in the fridge, hope to use it this summer :)
Carol, I never found a stigma on my blooms of shredded white last year either. I finally gave up. LOL
Doris, all my seedlings from Maya was albinos.
