Kathy, Unlike Hardy Hibiscus, Tropical hibiscus seeds produce plants that different than the mother plants. While they may be similar, they will take on the characteristics of the pollen donor also. There is no quarantee that you will be bi-colored plants. All named Tropical hibiscus are reproduced through cuttings (and in some cases are grafted). Seeds are difficult to find, but the American Hibiscus Society and the Internatitional Society offer seeds at times.

Good luck in finding seeds. Nat

kathy_ann, have you thought about getting tropical hibiscus through cuttings? I collect them from all over, plus have been blessed with some from fellow DGers. They're really easy to root.

jeese, I thought I was wathcing this thread, guess it got lost somewhere, it's been a while since I posted this, i'm now trying to clear out the greenhouse of tropicals, so I don't really need to be getting seeds or cuttings of hibiscus's any longer, thanks for the great help though.
