Help or any Ideas with plant feeding

Dansville, NY(Zone 6a)

I just saved a few plants from walmarts clearance sales.
I now have 2 palms/spath ( thats all thats on the label)
and a Red Sister Cordyline.

the roots on these plants were already coming out of the drain holes
on the pots so they needed to be repotted.

I repotted them removing much of the soil that they came in and
placed into 3 gal pails. The bottom 3 to 4 inches is large perlite
and the rest is coco coir.

All 3 pails are hooked together with 1/2 poly line for draining to
a single pail with a water pump feeding 2 2gph drippers per plant.

right now im just running plain water becouse these plants were
as dry as could be.

I need to come up with a nutrient feeding level using hydroponic
nutrients. i was thinking of starting off with a 400 to 800 ppm
level

GH Bloom 2 mL per Gal , 0 mL per Liter
GH Grow 2 mL per Gal , 0 mL per Liter
GH Micro 4 mL per Gal , 0 mL per Liter

HI,

With all those chemicals, it looks as though they are going to be eating better than myself!!LOL I have no idea about the chems, but I think for green growth, the first number has to be bigger. That as scientific as I can get. Now .....as to your "pots". I am a chef and they look like what I now use for laudry-separating-baskets; formally frozen egg containers. Right?

Good luck....PS.. I also use Wally World as a rescue spot. Got some nice orchids for 5 bucks a piece.....

PPS Sparky...........I'm originally from Rochester and used to go horseback riding near you. LOL. Got too cold for me so I move to sunny and year-around summer Florida.

Sparky, What you should do is call one of the colleges near you or look them up on the internent and talk to or send an email to some one in the horticulture department.

They could give you recommendations for your fert programs. You give those plants too much of any one nutrient which it doesn't require or absorbs slowly and it will cause a deficincy of some of the other nutrtrients. It will have a counter effect to what you are doing.

To much of one of those nutrients can also cause folialr problems and open the door for certain pests and pathogens. Try googling under propagation of the plants or maybe nutrients requirements for your particular plants.

Find out what the pH for that particular plant should be too. That will also help to balance the soil content.

Hope your new babies do well for ya!

I found the ph levels on one website during my weekend searching
for info on these plants. 6.0 to 7.0 if i remember correctly. it was in the
same range as what i normally set up for my other plants.

I have had mint , peppermint , catnip and carnation so far in hydro
and used a higher nute requirement then what i set up for the palms.

I just set them up on a timer, but i think im going to have to flip flop
my timer wireing so i can get longer off time on the feedings. max
right now is 10 hours. my other timer can be set up to 999 hours.

I went with the nute level i org. posted and after actually mixing it up
the ppm was 711. which is about right. my water is a little high in calcium.
