Does it make berries? It looks a little like a prunus bloom.

Sorry, no berries just plain ordinary-looking capsules, green then brown when mature

australia! that's great. I actually have this same deutzia (i think)in my garden in zone 5- i had ordered it about 5 years ago from herronswood nursery and lost the tag. i get a bit of die back but its doing well- covered with pink- a bit later than the early spring shrubs. the nice thing is how the flowers are clustered on short racemes- they actually last really well as a (short) cut flower.
