Fire roasted chili peppers

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

You know those little bitty cans you can buy in the Mexican food products aisle. They are green peppers with various heat strengths. I bought a can of whole ones by mistake and there were just two chilis in there and they looked like what I call an Anaheim pepper ( I think this is the pepper in Chile Relleno). The ones I buy are very mild. I just can't do any kind of heat; I am a real pansy. I was wondering how a person could duplicate these peppers. For such a little bitty can they are over $l which is crazy really. I thought maybe you could de seed these Anaheims, blanch them and then roast them in hot skillet or even on the grill. Any ideas? We have some experts here and I am looking forward to your expertise.
