Would like Tumeric seeds

Carencro, LA(Zone 8b)

I posted this under Seed Trading before seeing this forum, so it's now in both. Someone posted in our local newspaper who is wanting these seeds, and I thought I would try and help them find some. I have numerous varieties of seeds I could trade, or you let me know what you would like for them, and I'm sure we can work something out. Thank you so much.

howdy! tumeric, or turmeric (curcuma longa) is related to ginger and at times(right now, actually, up here) you can find the roots at the grocery store in the "exotics" section--they look like miniature ginger roots, more orangey in color. I think starting the plant from the roots may be the easier way to go.....

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look and see if I can get it around here. Yeah, someone else told me that they've never seen seeds for it, and that they usually get more plants by division, so I'll have to look and see if I can get it around here. Today would be a good day to do some calling around. I've sprouted ginger before, so I'm assuming the process would work the same for this, too. Worth a try!
Thanks for the info.
