It's a 'Palestine Sweet Lime on Volkameriana'
I was reading on this page about Volkameriana being used as root stock.

Does that mean ''Palestine Sweet Lime - Citrus limettiodes" is a crossbreed with 'Citrus volkameriana'?
Making it 'Citrus limettiodes x. volkameriana'?
Or is it just 'Citrus limettiodes'?

Citrus volkameriana is a lemon used as rootstock. The Palestine Sweet Lime is grafted onto the lemon. You should be able to see the graft union along the trunk somewhere between the soil level and the first branch. All the new growth will be Citrus limettiodes. Remove any growth below the graft union as it comes from the rootstock.
C. volkameriana is used as rootstock because it produces larger trees and more fruit. The downside seems to be that it is not as cold hardy as some of the other rootstock used and the trees seem to go into decline after about 15 years.
There has been a lot research there in Arizona regarding the use of C. volkameriana as rootsstock commercially. Your county extension agent should be able to give you more information.

Thanks, so I guess the proper botanical name is "Citrus limettiodes" only.
with nothing in the botanical name about 'C. volkameriana'.
