New Monarch emerged today

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

Here is a picture of a newly emerged monarch today. I found him on an epi while watering and moved him to his buddleia for some food. Very pretty male.

We had a few butterflies fluttering by in through our garden today too. Definitely a sign that spring is only a hop, skip and a jump away :-). Congrats on seeing the lovely Monarch too! :-)

Thanks.
I just had someone give me a PVC patio table, umbrella and chairs and I put them right in my garden.
How wonderful it was this afternoon to sit there with my coffee and just watch the butterflies and birds at the feeder. So relaxing....

I'm jealous!

Don't be. It's my way of escaping the depressing inside of my house that is in desperate need of remodeling. Can't stand to look at it and can't afford to fix it. At least I have a place to get away and dream

You also have flowers and butterflies! Except for some weedy grasses nothing is growing here. Yellow butterfly bush, I need to look for one of those!

I love the buddleia but I honestly don't have a lot of luck with them. They seem to do better here in the winter than the summer and mine like a lot of water. I'm surprised I've kept these alive this long.
I have lots blooming right now. I grow annuals all year round. We're lucky in that we seldom get a frost or hard freeze. I've only had to cover things once so far for 2 days but most things survived except a few morning glories. Just an odd brown leaf here and there. I would have a hard time living somewhere I couldn't garden year round. If I had to live in a cold climate, I would probably buy a huge greenhouse and move in
