Prune Passiflora? (and other misc. questions about passi's)

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm overwintering a Passiflora incarnata in the house. It's not growing well indoors, I think the air is too dry. Anyway, am I supposed to trim it or prune it back? I know it's usually hardy in my zone, but I wanted to grow it in a pot for now. This is my first year with it, though, and I don't know it's usual habit. Does it die back on it's own in the winter (if outside?) Or does it put on growth from last year's growth? Does is typically loose it's leaves in winter?

Unfortunately, I've gotten a pretty bad infestation of spider mites, so pruning is looking more and more important, right now.

Sorry, I could narrow the search down enough to find this info if already posted in the forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I have incarnata growing outside. I have on occasion grown it inside also. If grown outside, depending upon how hard the winter is, it will die back. If there is viable hardwood, it will leaf out from there. If not, it will put out a whole new vine in the spring. If you cut it back, it will branch out more and be bushier. Otherwise, it will keep getting longer. Incarnata is very versatile and hardy. It has been a very mild winter here and mine has lost its leaves, but I can already see the signs of new ones. Dont worry about cutting it back. It will just branch out more.
