After more growth and sunlight. I had purple basil on the deck in the shade and it was a mix of green and purple, very lovely. When I moved the pot to full sun, it turned all purple.

Your welcome! I love purple basil and it reseeds so generously. After the year, the pots were moved up close to the house and in the spring... the purple leafed basil starting sprouting up. They put off a ton of seed in the fall.
I always start mine indoors under floresent lights and mine always turns purple as its first true leaves get big.
