CLOSED: Wanted: Southern Catalpa (from a reliable person...please)

(Zone 7a)

Catalpa bignonioides
I have been promised these seeds 2 different times from 2 different people. Anyone who has these please let me know. I will see what I can offer in trade.

Note: Delivery confirmation is available on ANY piece of mail. If you send seeds and they don't reached their destination. You can always pay $.12 and have delivery confirmation added, the second time. Just a little info for those that don't know. When mailing trades I don't use it. But when mailing seeds I sell I ALWAYS pay the 12 extra cents for delivery confirmation. Therefore no one can come back to me and say.."I never received my seeds" And if they do..at least the envelope is trackable.

Thanks!
Kim

imzadi - it's good to see you haven't lost your sense of humor

The tree attracts worms and it is these worms that are put on the end of the fishing line!!

I'll post a picture of dried pods in just a little while. Bet these are some of the longest pods you'll ever see, one is 22 3/4 inches long.

(Sorry Kim I would send them to you but I've already promised Sequee she could have them for a dried arrangement, plus I don't know if they are viable or not, doubtful on all but the one pod that is partially open.)

Kim at my other house I had the Cataliper trees, they call them fishing trees because of the worm like bug it gets, fish loves them, they usually get in the flowers, and the flowers smell good too.
I just ordered from your ebay site :)

Should have added they have a LOT of VERY LONG pods that is a mess to clean up

Kim,

I believe Sequee is sick with the flu. I sent her an email about receipt of seeds I had sent her and she responded by saying she was too sick to go to the mail box.

The "worm" is a caterpillar, not like a wiggler, earthworm, or redworm you fish with.

Yazoo City, MS(Zone 7b)

Be careful and don't walk under that tree....worms in your hair, etc. You sure you know what you're getting into?! lol

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Holler if you need more. I have some that I picked when I was in Alabama. I have a couple of seedlings going but I am thinking about planting more. Such a cool tree.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

YTRN you are right and they drop easily. Kim you better think this one over LOL

I asked eddiegirl for some in November, she sent me 300 (hundred!) for 1 trade.

I didn't think she'd send that much!

If you really need some, they're here.

I didn't think that anyone else would want some..... :^(

Hey Kim, you can come rip out the ones in my yard. They are soooo messy! And the caterpillars eat all the leaves. And old stumps don't die, they just keep sprouting. Seriously, if anyone wants any seeds next year, I'm sure there'll be plenty in my yard.

PS: I have a picture of the caterpillars if you wanna see.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

groovytee I was amazed at the mess they make with the pods, and they are hard on a mower, but the worst was walking under th tree to cut grass and getting those worms in your hair.

Washington, PA(Zone 6b)

ewwww yuk, glad I don't have to mow the grass! Have you ever seen them with the parasitic eggs on their back? It's sooo gross...

(Zone 7a)

Ummmm...do I really still want this?? Ewwwwwww

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Well Kim, if you love fishing you will have lots of bait, the flowers smell good but do not last long, the pods are a mess because there are so may the tree gets loaded with them, now you can think about it LOL

So are we suppose to call "a parasitic wasp" a beneficial insect???

Valdosta, GA(Zone 8a)

I'm looking for a ornamental (colorfull) pepper bush that I can put on my porch rail. OMG, I have never seen so many seeds & plants listed. I have no idea as to what they are :-( , everyone seems to know whats what. I'll hang around Plantfiles & see what you have.
