Hi,
does anyone have a Clematis Florida Sieboldii plant:

that they would be willing to trade for a Vigna Caracalla (Corkscrew Vine) plant when weather permits?

Wanted: Clematis Florida Sieboldii for Vigna Caracalla
Hi Donna!
I cannot help you with that one, but wanted to say you have good taste! lol...
I've had my eye on that one, too.
I think I'm just going to have to buy one. They look gorgeous!
I may have to include two of the tamora roses, they have, too...
...oh, dear...this time of year really hurts my account! lol...

Hey Taylor,
yes, we have similar tastes, LOL, expensive. ;~) I guess I too am going to have to crack open the wallet. Where are you going to get yours from?
Probably from Wayside, because they have the Tamora roses I want, too. I've ordered roses from them before(The McCartney rose, Eden, New Dawn) and they are all my very best and biggest roses. They send pretty large roses, bareroot, and have good prices.
I've had good luck with their roses, but have not had good luck with their 4" potted things...They always arrive looking like green slime...
I think the clematis will be ok, though, as they are tough. I once ordered one from the UK, and she put it in a bubble mailer! It made it just fine! Another time I ordered from Directgardens(don't ever do that!)and it was the ONLY thing that arrived alive in their garbage bag packing bag...so, I KNOW they are tough...
I even think the Sieboldii would look good WITH the Tamora(apricot), but may put one of my 'Blue light' clematis with it, or maybe a solid purple...still haven't decided...
12.95 is not bad for clematis, especially since I've grown my own from seed, and know it takes several years to get them to selling size. If I took care of something that long, I'd probably want more than that for it! lol...

Well, I was terribly weak this morning, I knew that the garden shop had gotten in their clematis tubers & I just HAD to stop and see what there was on the off chance they had the Sieboldii, and I told myself that if they didn't, I was coming home empty handed...
I came home with a Dorothy Walton & a Margaret Hunt. I am just so worthless at self-talks. hehehehe
But hey, at $4.99 it was a steal! And I am pretty sure I heard my name coming from those 2 boxes. ;~)
Actually, these were 2 that I had previously but died, so I really had no choice but to replace them, right?
I had heard that clematis make wonderful visuals mixed with roses. I don't grow roses so have not seen it first hand, but the pics I have seen are lovely.
You have a tough choice to make. You might just need to buy more then one. LOL
Donna
Don't encourage me!!! lol...
Maybe YOU will have to buy more than those two ,and purchase the sieboldii! Hey! Valentines is coming up. Tell your hubby you saved him the trouble, and bought your own gift! lol...I do it all the time! lol...
I like clematis in roses, but also like them in bushes. Frankly, I just like them in anything...
-T
That only works if your hubby is the "buying" kind. Your so LUCKY! hehehe
I may be able to root you a cutting in the spring.
Donna-
He ISN'T the buying kind...!!, lol..
I used to have to "sneak-buy" A LOT! We finally agreed on a separate account for my hobby, and I went to the bank and opened a "gardening" account. (I even got cute little checks with garden tools on it! lol...)
He would just wince every time I wanted to buy something and would always say THE SAME thing! "ANOTHER plant??!!)
This way I can put my mad money in there, and he doesn't have to know about my purchases each time. He says it is less painful for him, when he isn't constantly being reminded(like previously when I always had to ask him for the money) that I am spending money on "more plants"...lol.
-T
Capt, that would be wonderful! I would greatly appreciate it.
Taylor, are we married to the same man? hehehe
Should I order an extra, and "sneak it" to you?lol...
...I could send it so it would just look like a trade, lol...
-T
LOLOL, you are a stinker! I think you're a bad influence. You already hooked me on the vanilla trumpet & I am gonna HAVE to order one of those, I naturally blamed it all on you, so if your ears were burning a few weeks ago, now you know why. I have seriously gotta stop reading your posts. ;~) NOT.
donna
You'll just have to remind me though, I don't trust myself to remember anything that's not written down in several places (incase I lose a few of my reminders).
LOL, I am the same way. I have started using my birthday reminder program to remember things. Pathetic, huh? lol
Lol, not really. I rely on the trade tracker to remind me of things. At least I can trust myself to remember to look on there.
