Impatient for Spring?! Keukenhof's Spring Bulb Display

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi, everybody....Was looking around for new bulb/plant combinations on the net and found this series of Slides of Keukenhof and other public bulb gardens that really inspired me...wish I could say I took the pics! I love the one of the pink and blue hyacinths!

In case you miss it (as I did the first time) the 'Next' button to advance to the next slide is down on the lower right--kind of hard to see...

For the true bulb fancier there are some interesting bulb combination pics starting with this link... http://www.bulbi.net/GIARDINI/ftm/001_IY_Galanthus_Crocus_Corydalis.htm

again, this is on the same Italian site 'Floriana Bulbose' (and the 'Next' button in down on the right)..... I love the Australian pic of the muscari and narcissi garden path...

I guess you can tell I can't wait for Spring! Happy gardening. t.

I too am waiting for spring to show its little head. Can't wait for all those little greenies.

Great links, thanks. Something I just noticed and found kind of neat is that even when the website is in another language, you can figure out what some of the descriptions say when you know the botanical names. Maybe everybody already knows this, but I think it is cool.

S. Since the site is belongs to an Italian bulb supplier and it's in Italian I had never noticed it before on my google searches...but the pics are so beautiful and romantic that it is well worth deciphering the language. I picked up (a little) on the latin names too.

And then my high school latin helped me out getting around the site (not easy to do--Italians are great with garden design, but not web site design!) And I only got C's in Latin!

H. How far north are you in Indiana? We have some of our daffs showing but we are down on the Ohio River pretty far south...

For a while we'll have to just enjoy the pics I guess. t.

Out in the pacific northwest, I was visting a friend and drove by a house and was shocked to actually see daffodils not only up, but blooming! With the exception of the freak ice storm we had a couple weeks ago, our winter has been quite warm. Daff's, tulips, hyacinths are all starting to come up in my yard. Is it too early?

I think it's never too early for spring bulbs! They seem to be survivors as long as they have good drainage...Pls. post some pics! t.
