Beautiful specimen! Have inherited some more "cuttings" recently and have just stuck them in some potting soil in greenhouse till spring. I understand that they will not bloom till stem "V's"--do you know if that's so? The others I inherited last spring grew straight up and lots of leaves, but no blooms--of course they were just stems when planted--just can't wait for some blooms!!

nannie,

Yes a brug must Y before it will bloom.

thanks scooterbug--do they just Y as they get larger, by themselves?

Alice, it's beautiful, congratulations.

Sorry I did not see this before tonight )o:
I was checking something else, and saw these replies.
Thanks, everyone.

Rooted tip cuttings bloom the fastest.
I have had some of those bloom while rooting.
Some just a few inches tall ..and a big bloom!
Often those cuttings once rooted bloom before a Y, too.

Confedeagle ..
You could not have bought this at an Alabama flea market.
This brugmansia isn't released yet.

If you are worried about not coming back after winter, dig and pot up in fall or take cuttings ..and winter inside.

No brugmansia comes back if left inground over winter where I live.
But they winter inside fine in pots.

Thanks, everyone.
I hope to have 'Alyse' released by fall.
