Kitchen Essentials

Midland, TX(Zone 8a)

OK, we all have them--pet gadgets and ingredients without which we just will not do. I'll tell you some of mine, and I am eager to hear yours. I bet you have favorites I will want to adopt.

Ingredients:
Wondra Flour (I'll write a separate note about that)
Kitchen Bouquet (ditto)
Parsley and basil growing in a pot (or freshly picked and frozen)
Garlic and onion
Roux in the freezer
Chicken stock in the freezer
Cayenne pepper in a bowl with lid near the cooktop
Kosher salt (ditto)
Sugar in a big shaker
Canned tomatoes, sauce, puree and paste
Small cans of tomato juice
Big jar of honey
Malt vinegar
Balsamic vinegar
Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Selection of pastas and rice
Campbell Soups: mushroom, celery, chicken
Big bottle of Tone's chicken gravy mix

Gadgets:
Forged steel chef's knife
" " paring knife
Electric carving knife
Microplane grater
KitchenAid silicone heat-resistant spatulas (curved shape, like a spoon)
Nesting set of heavy-duty pyrex mixing bowls
Amway plastic wrap
Watkins flavorings
Big bottle of Tone's pure vanilla extract
Calphalon cookware
Electric ice-tea maker
Oversized salad bowl
Nutmeg grater

My very most favorite appliance is a reverse osmosis water filter system, but that's because the city water here is really, really bad.

OK, I am eager to hear yours, so I can see what next I cannot do without!
