Hi, I'm a new member of Dave's Garden.com and thought I'd drop by and say "hello!" I garden in Eastern Iowa, zone 5a, on a small acerage. Do mostly perennial gardening with lots of peony, poppy, daylily, lily, iris and hosta and a bunch of stuff in between. Attached is a picture of some of my shade gardens from last June. Hope you enjoy!

Hi from Eastern Iowa
Welcome again! Pretty picture!!! Hope to see you around the forums.
Gosh Diann, your picture is really good. It just looks so neat. Nothing like my stick it here or there gardens. You must work out there a lot. By the way, welcome to Daves. I almost forgot. My mind went elsewhere when I opened your picture. I'm going to have to look up Lisbon on a map. Not familiar with where it is.

I just checked and see that you aren't too far from I-80. You can jump on there and be in DM in no time and we can all meet at the Iowa Roundup in May. Peek at the Roundup forum to get some information on the Roundup. They are so much fun. Hope we can meet then.

Hi Ticker, We are going to have to figure out where Lisbon is and arrange a guided tour of your beautiful gardens. We're so glad to have you join us and look forward to chatting with you "in the garden".

hello from upstate new york. love the picture.
Thank you all for your kind words of welcome. Regarding my gardens, I subscribe to the CDP method of gardening, Carry it so far, Drop it and Plant it. It's only been in the last few years that I've actually taken some time to try to figure out what really should go where. The picture of that garden was taken in June '04, it took me that long to get to it to get it weeded and edged. Note, I didnt' show you the back side of that fence, it hadn't been edged or weeded yet. :) '04 was the year that I worked on the hosta heavens more than the sun gardens, and I've got to say, after looking at my sun gardens it sure did show. This year I'm going to have to kick it into gear and get all the sun gardens weeded and mulched and then move on to the shade gardens. We'll see, we'll see. Anyway, thanks for the kind welcome!
