Kathy, does your mint take sun or shade??? TIA!!
Does anybody know an online source for GF Mint?
I have Jim Westerfirld mints for trade come Spring.
I have:
*Marilyns Sweet Salad
*Hillarys Sweet Lemon
*Candy Lime
*Sweet Pear
*Candied Fruit
*Pink Candy Pops
No, Cottage_Rose, I do not but the grapefruit mint is the one I REALLY want, so I hope someone will be able to direct us.
Sherrylike, Sorry I never answered this, Most mints like full sun, the grapefruit mint is in part shade though, and doesn't spread fast because of it. I might move it this year to the full sun. I'm thinking I have extras of this if you want to trade sherrylike, and
cottagerose I have all these
*Hillarys Sweet Lemon
*Candy Lime
*Sweet Pear
*Candied Fruit
*Pink Candy Pops
don't have the salad mint though.
I stuck all the 4 in pots of mints in the greenhouse in hopes to bring them back to life sooner, some are coming forth, some are stilll taking their time. but give me a few more weeks, and I should be able to trade with yall.
KA, I would love to trade, but I broke my ankle 10 days ago, and about all I can offer, at this time, is paypal. I would love to have starts of any and all the mints you have. Will they be bothered by mulch?? If so, I can save a less mulchy place. Do you use your mints in recipes?? If so, what sorta stuff??? Thanks!!!!
mulch won't hurt them at all, mine grow right through it, I'll send you what I can, no need for paypal, Hope your foot mends ok, my son spranged his ankle real bad today, good thing he has off tomorrow from school to help it heal up. Remind me in a few weeks ok, I've been so busy, I will definitely forget about this. Just so you know, I'm cleaning out the greenhouse of alot of plants, so we don't have much to care for and are able to go traveling. So I'll have some plants up for sase in the plant trading forum, first come first serve.

Kathy and Sherry, u both live in AR, for all intent and purposes u both might be neighbors LOL!
Sherry, u can chop mint finely and sprinkle on pasta or any dishes u fix... it will give the dish that extra ump in flavor. use sparingly though. nice to add mint in tea also.
oh yeah, I forgot to tell you if I use it in foods or not, thanks mavie.
I do use it in foods, salsa's teas, making certain soaps with some of it,
I think sherry told me once where she lived, itw as quite a ways away from me, but not sure,
been a while

MaVie, I think I'm closer to Memphis than Kathy, tho I'm not positive where her town is. I've always used old fashioned mint in green peas and new potatoes, with a white sauce. Also, in lots of drinks and, my fav, mint jelly and lamb. So, I cannot wait to get some going again...
the peas and potatoes with sauce, sounds wonderful. I'm about 2 hrs from memphis
kathy
Very simple, Kathy. I package frozen green peas, or fresh if available, scrubbed, cooked new potatoes, one cup white sauce, put some fresh mint in the sauce and some on top to garnish. I put extra butter in the white sauce...
oh yum, love it. got to try it with the mint too
kathy
Thanks, Kathy!! It is a good dish and good with just about anything, I hope it works well for you - I've made it in the microwave and the regular range, could tell no difference...
